Ybrato ReedReflector Alto Sax GL

This is an excellent ligature that genuinely alters your sound's characteristics. Before this, I played with a standard Selmer one-screw ligature; switching to the Ybrato gave me a more responsive reed and increased overall volume. It feels as though the ligature can compensate for subpar reeds. I also tried the BG L12 SR; while it makes hitting notes very easy, you lose body in the tone—the sound becomes unrefined—and since I play lead alto in a big band, I suspect my sound would get lost in the section. The Ybrato, conversely, adds body to the tone, and the sound cuts through clearly within the section. I play a 10mfan Showboat 6 mouthpiece with Rigotti 3 reeds. I hope this helps!

Ich habe wirklich bereits zahlreiche Ligaturen im Einsatz von Vandoren Optimum über Olegature bis zur Brilhart 3-Band und viele andere. Insofern war ich durchaus skeptisch, als ich mir diese neue Ybrato Ligature bestellt habe.

Aber ich muss ehrlich sagen: ich bin wirklich begeistert!

Top Verarbeitung in Summe, der Schraubmechanismus fixiert symmetrisch und hält das Blatt exakt "auf Kurs". Die Idee mit dem Schlitten zum Ausrichten und Fixieren des Blatts ist super und sorgt für perfekte Stabilität. Die Ligature hat genau die richtige Dicke, um einerseits sicher zu fixieren, aber anderseits auch nicht zu massig auf dem Mundstück zu sitzen. Dadurch ist die Ligature deutlich schlanker als bspw. die Optimum von Vandoren

Das Gimmick mit den auswechselbaren runden Elementen - für mich nicht so wichtig - aber das ist natürlich reine optische Geschmacksache. Wer mag kann sich da austoben.

Sound: top! Ich spiele eher dunklen Jazz Sound mit Jazz Reeds und entsprechenden Mundstücken. Dieser Sound wird perfekt unterstützt, mit einem ganz leichten "sizzle", der den Sound "leicht" wirken lässt.

Auch richtig gut: die Ybrato Ligatur spielt sich perfekt über alle Register, auch mit schwierigen Reeds.

Fazit: top Ligature, die bleibt :)

Très bonne surprise avec cette ligature ! Mise en place rapide et intuitive, émission sonore franche dès les premières notes, et un maintien d'anche fiable qui inspire confiance. Les détachés répondent bien, avec une belle réactivité. Trop tôt pour un avis définitif, mais après une semaine, elle tient toutes ses promesses. Un très bon rapport qualité-prix pour les saxophonistes qui cherchent une ligature sérieuse sans se ruiner. Je recommande.

First off, I'm not a ligature collector. I've been using a Vandorent Optimum for years and was pretty happy with it.
I recently bought a Jody Jazz Quasar mouthpiece and my Vandoren turned out to be too big !
I'm normally not a fan of ligatures that have the screw on top and I was looking for a ligature that wouldn't scratch the hard rubber.
I'm very pleased with this ligature ! It's easy to fit and adjust, it keeps the reed well centered, it's solid and it fits my several mouthpieces including the Quasar.
I won't comment on the resonator thing as I find these widgets very subjective in their actual effects.
It comes with a thick rubber cap that fits tightly. I like that too.
