It amazes me that people will spend thousands of pounds on an instrument, be it a bass or a guitar, they'll then spend hundreds of pounds more on an amplifier and effects pedals, then connect the whole thing together using the cheapest possible cables. Cables that often fail at the most annoying and inconvenient time possible.

These cables by Volvox are designed and built to last. I've been using mine for 7 years now, and it is still going strong, and shows no signs at all of failing.

So far, I have been using mostly Cordial cables that offer good quality for a more or less reasonable price but for connecting a DAC with a headphone preamp, I wanted to try out a high-end cable such as Vovox.

Direct S100 cables are very well built but very expensive (118€ for two 1m long cables). I honestly could not find any sound difference compared with less expensive Cordial cables, which also have Neutrik connectors. I have not tried how Vovox cables sound with a microphone over a long distance (20m and longer) because in those situations you can easily hear and differentiate a cheaper cable from a serious cable. I do not regret buying these short and expensive cables but generally, for short distances and in places where buzzing and noises are not an issue, you should really not bother with extremely expensive cables and save your money for something else.
