Bought this because of the hype behind the brand.
It's a quality instrument, and it certainly plays great.
The Solar Duncan pickups are kind of flat, or dare I say boring. If you're into really heavy stuff, consider swapping the pickups.
Now fo the negatives:
There are a lot of small imperfections in the finish here and there, and there's a couple of spots on the neck where the finish is a bit uneven and rough.
Small cracks on the side of the neck where the frets are pressed into the fingerboard started showing up a couple of weeks after delivery.
A couple of bubbles in the finish in the headstock, particularly around the logo.
The 5 way switch had a slight crackle to it, even when playing clean. Contact cleaner did nothing to help with this.
I dont really have anything special to say about the guitar.
It plays great, but the imperfections are too many for a guitar in this price range, and from what I've researched on the web, it seems to be a common thing with the Solar brand.
Needless to say, i wont be returning to this brand anytime soon unless they step up their QC.
