P
A versatile bass, a real all-rounder
Pawlik23 19.04.2021
Picked this bass for its specs and looks. I intend to play metal with it, so I was looking for something black with an interesting shape, I also wanted a bass with simpler controls compared to other instruments which come with at least 5 knobs and additional toggles I'm a 'set once and forget about it' guy). It also has a P style pickup and a humbucker, which is a rather rare combo.
And this combo works really well because I can get very aggressive or mild, warm tones out of this bass with the help of Zoom B1Four multifx.
The neck and the body are very sleek and comfortable compared to my other bass (Jackson JS2), which is a bit of a wooden slab. This Schecter is more curvy and pleasant to hold.
The only nitpick I have is the finish. The neck is not painted straight, there's a visible 'bend' near the marker of the 9th fret, the paint is not running perfectly straight along the fretboard wood.
One of the bolt-on holes has an imperfection around it, as if someone hit the wood with a tool and chipped it. This got painted over so it's not that visible fortunately, nevertheless I expected a higher quality standard.
Overall a pretty good bass for the price.
