8. Variants

The classical guitar, unlike steel-string acoustics, doesn't come in a wide range of designs. Most of the classical guitars available today are based on a design concept introduced by Antonio de Torres in the mid-19th century. The main goal was to enhance the volume of the guitar. By enlarging the once very small instruments, they achieved greater projection, more dynamics, and richer tonal variations. This design was met with enthusiasm by the guitar community and has become the standard for classical guitars, with only minor variations in body shapes, which continue to be popular to this day.

To cater to players of various ages and body sizes, classical guitars are available in different sizes.
