Nux Horseman OD

Never had the chance to try a Klon-based pedal.
Never had the intention of spending hundreds of euros for fancy clones.
Never had the time to build myself a clone.

This sounds good. I still have to fully discover its potential as it's different from your tipical Tube Screamer-like overdrive, but I already found a couple of really good sounds.

Pros:
-Small footprint
-inexpensive
-two modes
-two bypass modes

Cons:
-Small knobs can be hard to tweak if you have big fingers
-the footswitch activates when you lift your feet from it, not when you press it. Kinda wierd, I'll get used to it in the end, but I prefere the standard operating mode
-cork sniffers will never accept that a small pedal can sound that good and will hate youband talk sh*t about you for the rest of your life.

Premesso che a me non importa avere un clone del Centaur, ma solo un overdrive che funziona bene, questo piccolo pedale si è rivelato molto versatile con i suoi due overdrive da scegliere e il true bypass o buffer bypass. Suona caldo e gradevole, segue abbastanza bene la dinamica del tocco, come low gain overdrive fa molto bene il suo lavoro. Ovviamente è sempre questione di gusti, ma il pedale risulta efficace e affidabile. La sola pecca è lo switch che quando si ingaggia il pedale fa un netto click nel segnale, quindi va bene come pedale always on, oppure in contesto rock e blues dove quel rumore risulta inavvertibile. Per me che faccio ambient è un problema, perché entra nei delay e nei reverberi, per cui o lo tengo sempre acceso o sempre spento: per questo le quattro stelle. Il suono resta comunque ottimo.
