Stunning Bass
Bob bass 28.09.2022
I’ve been playing bass for almost 40 years now I’ve owned a variety of Squire’s and Fenders,American,Japanese,Korean,Indonesian, mainly Jazz basses, never got on with Fender P basses for some reason but always loved their sound,I read some reviews on this Sire bass and loved the look so took a chance.Wow this thing is I would say the nicest most musical sounding bass I’ve owned.amazing specifications and incredible value, the neck is stunning, pick ups sound great, hardware seems more than adequate,it’s personal I know but I think it looks stunning!! If you can just buy one future classic.

Great bass, but not for everybody.
XIII 09.12.2025
I really like it, it's a great bass, but it's going back. To keep this short, if it weren't for the neck profile/dimensions, I'd be playing it right now instead of returning it.
I really tried to get used to this neck, but it's all wrong for me. It's a C profile, 42mm nut with a 9.5" radius. To me, even with the generously rolled edges, it's just a pain to play, literally. It's too thick and wide, it feels cluncky. On bass, I prefer a D profile with a 38mm nut and a 12" or more radius, so that's quite different.

I love Pbasses, but usually I really dislike their necks. Sadly, this one is no different. The only Pbass style I found that fits the bill is the Harley Benton MV-4P. It is quite a similar bass to the Sire P5, for obvious reasons, they are both beautifully built Pbasses. The only real difference is the neck.
The Sire P5 impressed me with its build quality; there were virtually no defects on the one I got. Only the D# on the E string buzzed (almost a dead note, actually) because the very end of the 12th fret, under the E string, is a tad high; other than that, it is a perfectly built bass.
The sound is more than adequate, and the hardware is just fine. You might want to change the tuners to something lighter because the bass has some neck dive, but the quality of the tuners is excellent; they all feel the same, and they are precise enough.

The color is beautiful, just a tad darker than the pictures. The one I got was 4kg on the dot, just fine. Too bad I couldn't get used to the neck, I would have gladly kept it otherwise. If you don't have that kind of problem, give it a try; it's worth it.

A real FeNDER killer ( sorry)......
Billy 6 16.07.2025
I had a few doubts before getting my hands on it, as I thought that due to the moderate price it would be an average instrument... But to my great surprise, when I unboxed it, held it, and examined it closely, I realized we’re talking about an instrument of a completely different class.
I’ve owned several Fender Mexico basses — and this has nothing to do with them. The Marcus is better in every aspect!
Sound, wood, build quality — everything.
I truly believe this is my best purchase of the year.

Classic P-Bass tone in an affordable format. The roasted maple neck is a nice touch as well. Sounds killer and very confortable instrument to play! Having a blast playing with this thing!!
