Clarineau baroque 2 keys
Suprisingly nice instrument and I would have kept it if I hadn?t found out about the extra possiblilities of the 3 keys version. Some flaws made me decide to try the 3 key version.
It is really anoying that the high f# should be formed to give less pressure on the lower lip when playing a high g. The extra key in the 3 keys version, should solve this. Then it is a more full grown instrument I guess.
Futher more: the clarineau comes with an Bb clarinet mouthpiece and is delivered with a reed strength 2. I used a clarinet reed 2,5 and this Improved the sound quality greatly. It also made it possible to reach the highes notes that are presented on the fingering chart, which was really hard with the original reed. Overall a good instrument.

A very nice instrument
This presents very well, the packaging, the pouch and accessories are all very good quality.
The instrument itself plays very well, the addition of two keys extends the range usefully. I've been playing a keyless chalumeau and found the small range really limited the repertoire that could be played. This instrument is much more flexible and for advanced players covers a full range of over 2 octaves.
It's beautifully made and is a lovely thing to own and play.
