Arrived full of scratches because K&M's packaging is inadequate
MannyF 24.03.2023
Essentially the metal feet are not secured, wrapped or padded in any way and are free to bang around in the box during transit, providing plenty of opportunity for metal-on-metal impact, which is exactly what happened to mine. I ordered two. The moment I picked up one of the two boxes I could hear the unmistakeable sound of metal hitting metal and I feared the worst, and the worst happened—scratches and paint chipped all over the place. I didn't even bother to unbox the second unit as I could also hear the same noises and I'm returning both. Thomann offered to replace the faulty goods but this is absolutely not Thomann's fault, but K&M for using inadequate packaging, therefore I don't think a replacement would be any better since the same packaging method would have been used! It's a pity because the product itself looks solid and well designed. I contacted K&M to see if they are able to replace the product directly with a pair that's free of defects, the answer was "Ask Thomann to replace it", and my reply was "I will buy something else, thanks". In short, the product does job and is well designed but the packaging is poor.
