This is a good design with one mounting point you can position on several points around the clamp. But I just wish it had a couple more. I would also prefer a longer handle/wingnut so you could tighten the clamp more. It's very solid and feels well made.
This also clamps very nicely to cymbal or snare drum stands, I used a Shure A26X extension with mine and I have a great way to attach a mic under a cymbal or even to point over a tom. Many uses for this clamp
