Lovely- case but a generic size

I got this case for my vintage JE Dallas openback banjo. I love the looks and finish but unlike guitars, Banjos - particualrly older ones come in many different sizes and my banjo is "swimming" a little in this case. It is an 11" open back but i get the impression this case is sized for a resonator banjo so even with the coushin the banjo moves when you pick the case up etc. i'd prefer a more snug fit so buying this "unseen" has resulted in a case that is maybe not as protective as i'd like. I so love the look of this but would have preferred if Gator had provided some size options as other manufacturers do: resonator, 11" pot, 12" pot etc.

Decent case

this case looks awesome and it's all that matters.
I just wanted a hard case for my 1991 Deering Deluxe so i got it. The banjo sits at home never gets out. Quality is so and so, a bit filmsy, if i was to bring my instrument around to gigs here and there i would look somewhere else. Back in the day cases where like this after all. But 4 today's standards it's not the best protection. Locks work perfectly and the plush inside is very good, it's the outer shell that i wouldn't trust too much. But that's just my 2 cents.

Sexy thing!

I use it for short trips and my Deering Americana open back banjo is absolutely safe in it. Be kind to it and it will bring you satisfaction. Its real beauty but be careful of dirt. It's not made for hobos. It's gentlemen?s case.

Beautiful, strong case

Excellent quality case for 5 string banjo and the colours of both the cloth case exterior and the interior lining are beautiful. The case is strong and well built and I am optimistic that it will last a long time.
