Fender Noiseless Gen4 Telecaster Set

Il sound della telecaster (lo sanno anche i sassi), é ruvido, ignorante. Output legnoso e diretto, quasi elementare (alle orecchie dei babbani ...). Non ha il corpo di un humbucker. Non è dolce come quello della strato, ma è meravigliosamente unico e lo amo in modo viscerale. L'unico difetto è rappresentato da un leggero ronzio che fa tanto vintage; in studio, non è proprio l'ideale. Questi PU sono la soluzione al problema. Sound telecaster, tutto il twang che volete e niente rumorini fastidiosi. Serve altro?

Unfortunately i am one of those who got an Elite Telecaster last year with Gen4 pick ups on and the neck pick up went dead after couple of months. Sent the guitar to a specialist 4-5 times it worked but back to dead again after couple of weeks. Fed up with it so i purchased a new set of the same pick ups since i haven't really played them to get familiar. After the installation the guitar plays fine and the pick ups sound pretty good.

I can still hear a hiss noise but still its the closest to noiseless. They have a sweet sound but i do notice the compression they do to the sound but i think in the next years i will move eventually to a boutique pick up.

Overall there are good pick ups but not something that blew my mind.

Not many videos feature these pickups and even Fender's own YouTube channel doesn't do justice to them. They must have done a quick recording with generic gear because they sound better than the videos would make you believe.

Properly grounded and with conductive paint in my Classic Vibe's cavities, the hum is very weak even with maxed out distortion. The bridge pickup shimmer and the neck pickup heavy bell tone are as I expected. Plus, the mounting hardware has been improved so the rubber springs and screws are guided by threaded tubing for a tight and precise fit.

Also, the super thin coil wires are not exposed so there's no danger of damaging them, unlike in the older pickup frames. The base plates are neater with broad copper lanes, in line with modern circuit boards. The schematic is clear and large, no chance of misunderstanding it. My Classic Vibe had the neck pickup mounted directly on the guitar body, with adjustment screws not being accessible.

So, by just making two holes in the pickguard I now have a neck pickup that can be set up from the outside, as in regular guitars, I'm glad to have the extra convenience with the modern Fender system. Unlike the Duncan pair and older Fender pairs, where the bridge has more volume than the neck, these have nearly the same volume.

But what matters most is the tone beauty and it is beautiful.
