nice collectors item

I have this Ukulele for a couple years now. Unfortunately I rarely play this one. It's not because of the looks and finish. The size scale, thickness and looks are exactly as you expect from a mini Les Paul. The fret ands are smooth and the tuners are ok.
Because they wanted it to look like a mini LP they had to reduce the body depth and this is one of the reasons why it doesn't sound good. The edges are about 1,5 cm thick and the top is also a bit thicker than most ukes. All this results in a very quiet and dull acoustic sound. Maybe they had better made it a solid body so you wouldn't have any expectations of it sounding good acoustic. On top of that mine came with the most horrible black nylon strings I had ever seen on a uke. I replaced them with Aquila's which made the sound better but still far away from a similar priced real Concert ukulele (like a Baton Rouge V2).
It's nice to have if you like Les Pauls but I consider it more a gimmick than an actual ukulele.

Really fun instrument
Anonimo 08.04.2014
Bought this Uke for my son (8 years old). The idea was to get a well-sized instrument for him without having to buy a 1/2 or a 3/4 guitar, and also to get an easier instrument to begin with (only 4 strings and a faster learning curve).
He really loved the instrument at first sight, and was able to play 5-6 different chords perfectly after less than one hour.
I have to admit I also love this "baby Les Paul". :) Really great looking instrument, even if it's a little bit on the heavy side. Sides are quite thick (routed out of a wooden block), so the uke does not vibrate freely and the acoustic sound could be louder, but it's a very sturdy instrument (which is an advantage for a kid !).
When plugged into a guitar amp, it really kicks asses ! :-)
I will probably change the strings for a set of good uke stings (Aquila) to get a better sound out of it, but it's quite good "out of the box" anyway.

Epiphone Uke

The uke looks "Les Paulically" cool and is much fun to play, allthough there is a lousy (looooose) string set factory assembled. I was about to send it back at first, luckily, I ordered also Daddario spare stringsets, and after refurnishing, my instrument started to sound pretty cool (it also stayed tuned to play more than half a song too). The sound of the instrument is surprisingly good acoustically, and even better when you plug it in. But remember, no active mike. I am not going to write anything about features and quality, because they all are there. Maybe included gigbag should be more padded?

Sir D-Uke!!

This Ukulele is super. I wanted one that could plug into my amp and that I could bring gigging with me. I bought this because I loved the Les Paul look in the picture, it was reasonably priced and I have complete confidence in the Epiphone brand. And boy, am I glad I did. I use it live on a weekly basis. I usually plug it into my Roland Cube 100w bass amp and it sounds great. D.I'd into the PA and it sounds better! Plugged into my Trace Eliot GP12 it sounds even better! Lovely feel and action. If you're looking for an inexpensive electric Ukulele to have fun and perform with then look no further.
