It's cool, but...

I bought this unit in an attempt to get rid of my laptop when performing a show. My usual laptop rig was: guitar -> RME UC preamp -> a bunch of effects in Ableton (Soundtoys delay, chorus and Decapitator, Valhalla echo and reverb, EQ, comp) and a Faderfox controller assigned to key parameters.

The Ghost pedal, in itself, sounds more than OK. Reverbs are good, distortion is good, filters are OK. In a hour or so I managed to make it sound very close to my basic laptop timbre.

However, I quickly realized that that was the end of it. Endorphines built a 532€ DSP that offers good basic effects, with a very intuitive and playable interface, but in my opinion is a very limited machine for its price point. There's no real space for experimentation, at least for me.

If you have a working knowledge of modular synthesis, you can easily get an Empress Zoia for the same price, and control its parameters with an external MIDI controller.
