I bought this to replace a similar capo for mandolin that I had bought many years ago and lost. Unfortunately I was disappointed when it arrived. It is not a good replacement for the one I lost.
The length of the elastic strap containing the "eyes" to lock it into position is short and at the other end, there are two "tails" of elastic that get in the way of attaching the capo. I shall probably cut them off soon, but have not done so yet because I am afraid that the elastic strap will then fray and the capo become useless.
Because of this and the fact that the transparent plastic tube is rather thick, it is difficult to attach the capo to any of my three mandolins (2 flatback, one round) and the capo does not completely stop the strings, which buzz in all positions.
However, I have not found a better replacement, so I decided to keep it, simply because I can still use it to play along with recorded music to learn the piece so I can transpose it into another key once I know it by heart.
I have shaved a small amount of plastic from the part that closes on the strings and this has improved the performance a little.
Overall, rather disappointing and I am still looking for a good capo for mandolin!
