I avoided the hype and this brand of pedal for many years under the misinformed belief that no overdrive pedal for bass could justify these prices.

I struggled for years to get the blended sound of my bass and some overdrive with my Sansamp VTDI pedal. I got close and by cutting the mids, I got even closer -but the sound was never right.

I took a chance on this pedal -having already spent the hypothetical, inevitable refund money on other gear. Oh, how wrong I was.

The moment I switched this pedal on, I knew it wasn't ever going back. The blend and volume controls allow for the exact right mix of clean and overdriven signals. The grunt switch adds in the bass and scoops the mids in the exact way I had hoped.

This pedal is perfect for me and those who are 100% happy with their normal, clean amp sound but sometimes wish to add some drive and get that classic rock bass sound (especially when playing with a pick) to that bread and butter sound.

I can't really find any fault with the sound or controls but the power in socket is in a rather strange position that may not allow the use of certain 90 degree power jacks. I also can't tell at a glance (without clicking them on and off again) if the mids and grunt switches are in their up or down positions -having been disturbed when moving my pedalboard around. That's the only reason I give 4 stars for quality. However, for the rest, this pedal is absolutely that rock bass sound I have had in my head forever! Super recommended!
