Danelectro Baritone BL LH

Il suono di base è veramente bello e la chitarra arriva con un setup ottimo, ma l'uscita dei pickup è VERAMENTE bassa ed ESTREMAMENTE rumorosa. Uso il maiuscolo solo per rendere l'idea di quanto effettivamente questi due aspetti siano problematici. Peccato perché la chitarra ha carattere ed è leggera e assolutamente piacevole da suonare, ma utilizzarla nei live potrebbe essere complicato.

Restrung with Bass VI strings to use as a short scale bass tuned E to E rather than Baritone guitar. Plays like a guitar, sounds like a bass. Exactly what I wanted. Love the look, feel and sound of it.

Each of the pick ups has its own distinct sound so with selections of either or both pickups / tone rolled off or left on / picked or finger-style (can’t entirely slap as strings so close together - although I’m sure some with more expertise than me would be able to) / muted or open playing, there is plenty of scope to find the sound you want to accompany any style of music.

Only minor gripes are the used of domed screws on the back so they protrude rather than being flush to the body and there’s decoration around the edge so it’s looks like a black / cream / black sandwich from the side. It does look cool from a distance until you look closely and realise it’s a bit of vinyl stuck on to the guitar rather than part of the guitar paint job. Probably wouldn’t mind if the vinyl strip had been finished more neatly but it overlaps at bridge side strap button which isn’t quite what I’d expect.

It is a very minor gripe though, the domed screws are slightly more annoying but overall and for the price, it is a fantastic instrument. Niche instrument, yes, but fantastic nonetheless and so pleased I bought it.

It is perfect... for me.

Auf der überaus frustrierenden Suche nach einer lefthand-Baritone habe ich mich sehr auf diese Gitarre gefreut und sie dann doch wieder zurückgeschickt.

Positiv: ein überaus schönes Instrument, nicht das xte Metalbrett. Gute Intonation, bereits das trockene Anspielen macht Freude. Insgesamt gute Verarbeitung; Saitenlage zu hoch, hätte ich noch tiefer einstellen wollen, wenn ich sie behalten hätte. Aber das ist ja ein übliches Problem bei neuen Gitarren ab Werk, muß man halt selbst so gut wie möglich rumdoktern oder besser nochmal zum Schrauber geben.

Features: schlicht gehaltenes Instrument, Tone und volume-Poti, Drei-Wege-Schalter für die Pickups. Gefällt mir optisch sehr, die Schlichtheit. Gut ausbalanciert gewichtstechnisch, nicht sonderlich halslastig. Der Korpus machte aber einen etwas leichten/fragilen Eindruck im Vergleich zum massiven, langen Hals. Besser beim Gig nicht an den Verstärker anlehnen...sollte man natürlich sowieso nie machen...bloß bei dieser hier würde ich es mir auch nicht trauen.

Sound: und das ist der Grund, warum ich sie zurückgebe: dieser eine Sound ist wirklich gut. Macht richtig Spaß für Country/Rockabilly/Americana. Das war beim Jammen im normalen Bandgefüge (Schlagzeug/normale E-Gitarre/Keyboard/Frauengesang plus eben die Bariton) sofort stilführend...konnte sich aber bei schnelleren/lauteren Entwicklungen Richtung Rock dann nicht mehr durchsetzen. Also: fette verzerrte Riffs sind eher nicht so ihre Stärke, sowohl an nem 100w-Röhren-Marshall als auch an meinem 400w-Transistor-Bass-Amp ausprobiert, sie setzte sich irgendwie nicht durch. Gleiches Problem bei zwar cleanem, aber voller arrangiertem/schnellerem Song-Kontext (Akkorde schraddeln u. ä.)

Zu Hause kein Platz mehr für noch eine Gitarre, und dafür, dass sie für das eine zukünftige Lied, für die eine zukünftige Gelegenheit solange im Proberaum im Dornröschenschlaf liegt, macht es auch keinen Sinn.

Siehe oben, ist frustrierend als Linkshänder. Für Rechtshänder gibt es alle möglichen und unmöglichen Instrumente in größter Farbvielfalt, für lefties bleiben ein paar Standarddinger in Schwarz und sunburst übrig. Aber da kann auch kein Händler was für.
