Finally, a proper 303
randolfo 30.03.2023
been trying different synths for years, always looking for a bassline synth that felt natural, just did the bass and did it right every time.
I thought I found it in the bass station ii, but its acid filter setting got me curious about the real deal. So I sent it back (thanks thomann) and got the real deal, the tt-303.
The filter is so smooth that I can't find a spot that doesn't sound good.
Out of the two waveforms, triangle sounds rougher and bassier, in my opinion more interesting than the square wave, which is plenty useful nontheless.
The sequencer is also excellent, similar to the original roland one but much improved; building a pattern is now much faster and more intuitive. It is also possible to toggle sequencer parameters (accent, slide, octave, ecc) live, which is great for some instant variation.
Midi sync, start/stop and thru worked without a flaw.
Arguably the best 303 hardware emulation on the market.
