Schon vor dem Kauf habe ich mich für eine Kombination mit Korg volca kick entschieden: was ich da so am Kick Drum Sound aus den Testberichten und Tutorials der Boom Chick zu hören bekam, war nicht flexibel genug von der Soundbandbreite (kurz punchig bis hin zu melodischen Basslines), und auch der Druck mit oder ohne Drive war mir zu wenig.
Trotzdem sind die Regler des Boom Chick übersichtlich, nicht zu klein, und die Auswahl der Klangparameter sind wohl überlegt und machen Spaß in ihrer Überschaubarkeit.
Die Verbindung mit der volca kick gelang über EDIT 16, also external clock: CLOCK IN (Boom Chick) mit SYNC OUT (kick).
volca kick ist jetzt Tempo Master, und das gewünschte Tempo auf der LED ersichtlich.
Jetzt steht mir eine Drum - Percussion Sound Einheit zur Verfügung, die jede Art von Trommel-, Holz-, Metall- oder auch elektronische Impulse darstellen kann.
Bin froh, dieses Gerät gekauft zu haben, und nicht einen anderen Drum Clone!

Sounds amazing. Punchy kick, snappy snare, excellent FM drums. The only drawback for me personally are hihats, not my taste. Other than that - it;'s 10/10. Knobs are big enoght to not move them accidentally and operate with the nice degree of resistance. The housing feels solid and sturdy. The name is goofy and the chicken print is cute. My girlfriend says this machine is adorable. It's hard to disagree. But most importantly: it excells at doing "boom" and going "chick". A nice piece of hardware indeed. Is it going to cover your drum needs in 100%? Most probably not, unless you're doing minimal or something like this. But as a source of layering sounds - particularly for snaps / transients - it absolutely finds it's place in my setup.
