As a left handed finger picker with a range of steel strung guitars I thought it time I added a classical one to my stable but at not to great cost in case I did not get on with it and disappointed. I was not, I love it. The soft feeling nylon strings and wide fretboard felt strange at first but after a few hours playing it is as natural as my others (Fender Tele, Gibson Les Paul, a Gretch and two Hagstroms among others) I love the tone and can't put it down now.
Very well made with a flawless gloss finish (better than my Gibson which cost me six times as much) and the gold and engraved tuners make it look expensive. A few purists may not like the adjustable truss rod or the (subtle) fret position dots but I am all for them and it is why I chose the C5 over a similar Yamaha.
R.e. the gloss finish, it looks very tough and should stand a lot of knocks but as a thought and in no way a criticism a choice of a satin or Matt finish would be a nice.
The action is a bit high which you would need if you played it robustly such as flamenco but as my style is more of a gentle Chet Atkins I think I can lower it a lot without any fret buzzes.
All in all a very nice guitar, well worth the money with a lot of thought and care gone into its making.
Finally a word of praise for Thomann GmbH, obvious music lovers ,great prompt service and my guitar when it arrived was unbelievably well packed in THREE. boxes inside each other and loads of bubble wrap and newspaper. Great guitar and great service .Thank you.
