This is like a softer and lighter version of the Paiste M12. However, depending on which facing side of the mallet you use, you get a different sound and only a narrow area of the head produces a good sound. It could be that the material inside the head is not packed or compressed properly and it has got worse since I had the mallet. Consequently, I can't recommend it. Thomann's customer service was the best with their help on this one.
