Before approaching the Michael Landau 1963 signature stratocaster you should be aware of one thing: first of all you have to really dig old and, most of all, relic guitars. This one shows a very well done heavy relic job, particularly on the body, with finish checking and lots of wear and tear. In my opinion the neck could have matched better the look of the body: it looks too "new" to my eyes.
Weight is 3,48kg. Not too light, but light!
The guitar plays beautifully, thanks to a C shape neck and to high narrow jumbo frets. Pick ups (FAT 50's) are excellent in intermediate positions and I really like the neck position. Bridge pick up sounds a little weak and not as round and creamy as the other ones, in my opinion.
Cruz tools included are phenomenal: you'll set up your guitar just like a real Custom Shop luthier, with great accuracy!
Thanks Thomann for allowing me to be the lucky owner of one, and thanks a bunch for the superb customer service. I hope to deal with You again, soon!
